Spring Cleaning

Spring is an excellent time for cleansing the body, mind, heart, and soul.

For the Body:
Start by cleaning out your pantry and eliminate processed foods.  Visit the local farmers market or start greens in your own garden for some fresh super nutrients.
Consider fasting or a try a colonic cleanse to help clear your digestive tract.
Light exercises such as walking and yoga are helpful at moving the process along.

For the Mind:
Mindful practices such as meditation, hypnosis, and journaling are extremely effective methods of stress relief.  Letting go of toxic relationships, negative people, and other energy consuming stressors allow us to focus on bettering our Selves.  Prioritizing commitments in our lives will help us focus on what really matters.

For the Heart:
Forgiveness will set you free.  Be kind to Your Self and forgive your mistakes by letting go of the past and making positive changes NOW.
Realize that those who have broken your heart and damaged your trust are likely hurting worse than you.  So many are suffering from mental conditions, and everyone is fighting their own battle.  Only hurt people hurt people.  Instead of holding onto negative energy and anger, simply wish them peace and happiness, and lovingly set them free to go their own way.
Practice random and loving acts of kindness with others.  Be generous, and your heart will mend and grow in time and you will be stronger from the experience.

For the Soul:
Take the time to be ALONE and find Your Self.
Simplify your surroundings.  Clear the clutter.  If you don’t use it, lose it.  Let go of that which no longer serves you. Donate to a charity.  Make good use of your stuff instead of letting it drain you.
Change your environment.  Paint a room a bright color. Reorganize furniture.  Change is life.  Stagnancy is death.
Explore nature.  Breathe in all the beauty around you.  Exhale everything else.  Life is abundant.

Take the time to reflect on your life up to now.  Create new goals.  Be the best you can be in every way.  Namaste!

Eat Dirt!

Humans have been consuming minerals from the earth for hundreds of thousands of years.  Salt, soil, ash, charcoal all contain trace elements necessary for life.  They cleanse, heal, and have several other uses.

Bentonite Clay is one of several clays derived from Volcanic Ash.  Within its classification, there are several types of Bentonite Clay.  Calcium Bentonite, also called Calcium Montmorillonite is a green clay, is well-known for its healing and curative powers because of its high adsorption and absorption powers. It is alkaline with a pH of 8 or 9 and above, and is tasteless and has no smell. It can be used for external use. But, most importantly, this healing clay is extremely good when taken internally, for detoxing and removing toxins.  This is particulary useful for handling food poisoning, intestinal parasites, and other internal toxification.

Sodium Bentonite Clay is best used externally, as it has much higher swelling properties.  It is useful for drawing toxins and venom from stings, bites, and is used for epidermal wound healing.  It is an essential for hiking and camping, as clay mixed with water has been known to save victims from snakebites and insect stings by liberally applying to the affected area.  It works well on skin conditions including Psoriasis and Excema.  It is great for removing hair build up as well!

Bentonite Clay is negatively charged, while toxins are usually positively charged.  It is important not to use metal utencils when administering the clay as their ions will be attracted, rendering the clay useless for drawing.  Additionally, you may be consuming or applying harmful metals.

Redmond Clay is a locally sourced Calcium Bentonite Clay.  I like to internally detox with it on the weekends, as bowel movements may be more frequent or stronger.  And, detoxification can make you feel fatigued or queezy.  Additionally, it is best to consume clay away from meals, as it can pull nutrients from your foods.

Here’s how to take Redmond Clay:  Take 1 plastic teaspoon and shake into a plastic water bottle.   It is recommended to take a Psyllium Fiber Capsule with clay to aid in transit.  Take the solution at night before bed.  Your liver detoxifies in the early morning, so this is a perfect time to aid the liver in moving toxins out of your system.  Make sure to hydrate well during detoxification, so your toxins don’t get bound up in your digestive tract.  You may notice a metallic smell in your excretions.  This is normal.

Remember, a little dirt never hurt!

Déjà vu

Sometimes life seems repetitive: You feel stuck in a rut, like a hamster on a wheel. When you feel this way, life quickly loses it’s magic, creativity and excitement. It’s as if you are caught up in an internal dialogue, unable to get free. Meditation shows you how to step out of that dialogue, how to be present, living moment to moment with a natural spontaneity. ~ Andy Puddicombe
